Zero Contrast Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients with Renal Dysfunction using a Novel, Multimodality Cardiovascular Imaging Approach

چکیده

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is an established therapy for patients with severe, symptomatic stenosis (AS). Post-procedural acute kidney injury (AKI) occurs in up to 20% of TAVR cases and associated increased mortality, particularly pre-existing chronic renal impairment.1,2 Chronic disease (CKD) has been worse clinical outcomes treated surgical AVRS1or TAVR.3 CKD promotes progression AS4 increases mortality severe AS.

Patient selection for transcatheter aortic valve replacement: A combined clinical and multimodality imaging approach

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has been validated as a new therapy for patients affected by severe symptomatic aortic stenosis who are not eligible for surgical intervention because of major contraindication or high operative risk. Patient selection for TAVR should be based not only on accurate assessment of aortic stenosis morphology, but also on several clinical and functional ...
